ForeverClear BBL
The treatment of acned skin and acne symptoms
The positive impact of blue light phototherapy in easing the symptoms of acned skin and inflamed rosacea has been known for a long time. The blue light can impede the growth of the P. acnes bacteria that breed in acne without causing any injury to the skin surface, thereby assists the healing of acne and prevents new outbreaks. In the ForeverClear BBL treatment, the pulsing blue light applied will emit short high-intensity flashes of light to achieve a better result. The red light mitigates the inflammation and strengthens the healing process, while the pulsing infrared light warms the sebaceous glands and regenerates the scarred areas.
Recommended for
Those who have acned skin (for almost all types of acne, as an alternative or supplement to a drug treatment); who suffer from perioral dermatitis (itchy red rash around the lips) or inflamed rosacea.
Treatable skin surfaces
The two sides of the face or the whole face, the neck and the cleavage, the shoulders and the upper part of the back.
Preparation
The ForeverClear BBL treatment does not require any special preparation, it can usually be performed on the day of examination (subject to availability). We recommend neither sunbathing nor visiting tanning salons for two weeks prior to the ForeverClear BBL treatment.
The treatment
During a ForeverClear BBL treatment, a cooled handpiece is placed on the skin surface that issues a series of light impulses of a few seconds duration. Then we treat the neighbouring skin area. We treat the areas in several passes with the blue, the red and finally with the infrared light. The cooling prevents burns to the skin. The treatment may cause slight discomfort though it is painless, in general.
Ability to work, care at home
The patient can return to work immediately after the ForeverClear BBL treatment, as it causes no skin injury. After the treatment, you may experience some mild redness on the skin which disappears in a few hours and can be covered with makeup. There is no need for any special skin care at home after the treatment, though it is always recommended to avoid exposure to light for a period of two weeks. For the treatment of acne-skin we recommend you a highly effective cosmetic skin care selection – based on the positive feedback of our customers.
Number of treatments
We recommend you repeated treatments (set of 4-8 treatments). ForeverClear BBL treatments can be performed weekly or fortnightly.
Scientific background of the treatment
The ForeverClear BBL treatment is rooted in the advanced BBL technology of Sciton Inc., a US laser manufacturing company. According to scientific tests, blue light accelerates metabolic processes in Propionibacterium Acnes which are contained in inflamed sebaceous glands. In these bacteria, the blue light accelerates metabolic processes, in which increased porphyrin compounds are produced that kill the bacteria. A special diagnostic system using the fluorescence principle detects the porphyrin produced by the bacterium so that the activity of the bacteria can be determined (however, the examination is not equally accurate for all patients). The treatment results are also visible to the eye, inflammation symptoms are reduced and scars recede. Led by Dr Gábor Varju, Dr Derm Anti-Aging Dermatology, Aesthetic Laser and Plastic Surgery is the first institution to use the equipment and the related treatment methods in Hungary.
Cost of the treatment
A ForeverClear BBL treatment costs between 65,000 HUF and 125,000 HUF per session depending on the size of the skin surface to be treated. The treatment of the whole face for patients under 25 years of age in 4 sessions is 250,000 HUF.
